In the star studded Asia Pacific Pay TV Operators Summit 2014, amongst celebrity chefs, Kenyan’s very own Chef Kiran Jethwa catered to special guests including singer Angie Miller and tennis champ Martina Navratilova. The celebrity chef and owner of Seven Restaurants, well known for combining cooking and travel, spread his culinary wings even further last month when he embarked on a trip to Bali in Indonesia where the event was organized. The global media brand party, was held at the Conde Nast Traveler Reader Awards winning Ayana Resort and Spa on 27th April.
Gathering at one of the best resorts in Asia, Disney, FOX, NBC, Sony, HBO, MNC and BBC Worldwide, sampled exquisite cuisine from the celebrity chefs. The event has been lauded as the best industry event by key participants. During the dinner our skillful Kenyan chef, successfully paired unusual refined ingredients such as cured aloe vera and smoked rock lobster with Kenyan staples Ugali and kasava in an unusual twist that kept his guests guessing. Local ingredients such as Balinese black rice were also incorporated creating a mouth-watering African Asian fusion of flavours which delighted the distinguished diners.
Expanding the menu on his return, Kiran introduced Seven Seafood and Grill’s Sunday Brunches on 20th April. The exquisite take on seafood was not lost on the guests who sampled smoked salmon on lightly scrambled eggs on buttered English muffins.
